Middleburg Riding and their camps are absolutely fantastic! The campers learn a ton and do with the help of amazing staff and equally amazing horses! If you are on the fence just do it. You won't regret it!

Beth Powell

Hazel takes lessons year round at MR and was so excited for the opportunity to spend a whole week here. She had never done a camp away on her own for a whole day and she wasn't nervous or hesitant at all. She was eager every day to go to camp and learned so much in a short period of time. I felt safe sending her everyday and did not for once hesitate to leave her there. Thank you!

A Day At Camp: Day Campers

Day Camp: At drop-off campers are checked in by a counsellor, who confirms the camper has their lunch and water bottle. Home Base is on the Cottage lawn under the two apple trees, where campers will play games on the lawn while everyone is checked in. They will receive their horse or pony assignments for the day, then go to the barn to get their pony ready.

Their morning riding lesson will focus on the theme for the week, then they will wash and cool down their ponies and put them away, then have lunch.

After lunch activities can include lessons in horse care, water games, arts and crafts, and riding again. The afternoon's activities will be related to the week's theme.

A Day At Camp: Overnight Campers

Overnight camp: Drop-off will be in the Cottage where campers will choose a bed and where to keep their belongings. Each camper is assigned a horse for the week.

Every day starts with feeding their horses and bringing them in. Then they have breakfast and get ready for their morning ride.

Early afternoon consists of lunch, crafts, horsemanship of water games. They will then tack up for an afternoon ride, then a nutritious dinner, games or a horse-themed movie, and bed.
